Engineering Merit Badge

Attention Scouts, the Hudson Valley Council BSA and the Westchester Putnam Council BSA are working with Engineering EXPO to allow you to earn an Engineering Merit Badge. BSA counselors and all the activities you need to complete to earn the badge will be present at this year’s event.

Pre-Registration Is Required
For Scouts to complete the Engineering Merit Badge, we are requiring PRE-REGISTRATION and expect to see Scouts come to the event ready to see the Counselor.  The following recommendations must be followed.  Failure to prepare in advance will most likely, result in a “Partial Merit Badge”
Scouts in Westchester and Putnam interested in completing this Merit Badge should contact Mr. George Peborde via email at
gpeborde@verizon.net

Scouts in Rockland and Orange (or any other counties in NY, NJ or CT) should contact Larry O’Connor via email at ljopels@gmail.com.

Provide the following information:
    Your Name
    Your Town
    Your Troop No.
    Your Town or City
    Your District

COME TO THE ENGINEERING  EXPO AT WHITE PLAINS HIGH SCHOOL
550 North Street, White Plains, NY 10605  (in Westchester County)  on March 25th.

We have offered this Merit Badge at previous year’s EXPO’s, however some Scouts came un-prepared and many only earned a partial.  We are working to provide a quality experience for the Scouts with a reasonable amount of stress for the Counselors.
SCOUTS MUST COME PREPARED WITH THE RECOMMENDED WORK DONE IN ADVANCE.

GET THE UPDATED MERIT BADGE PAMPHLET FROM YOUR SCOUT SHOP. Most, if not all of the answers to the requirements that you need to do in advance are answered in the pamphlet.

BRING A BLUE CARD SIGNED BY YOUR UNIT LEADER. You must follow these recommendations for each of the requirements in order to complete the badge:

1. Needs to be done at home
2. This is best as a written answer prepared in advance.
3. This can be done in advance. At EXPO you'll be able to meet with different kinds of Engineers at EXPO and get additional information.

7. This is best done in advance, with additional information obtained at EXPO.
8. This is best done in advance, with additional information obtained at EXPO.
