Attention Scouts, Our local Boy Scout Councils are working with the Engineering EXPO to help you earn the Engineering Merit Badge.   This opportunity requires that you prepare work before coming to the EXPO.  There are Engineers and Professionals at the EXPO who can help you answer several of the requirements that require you to discuss and talk with Engineers about their work.   We have offered this merit badge at previous year’s EXPO’s, however some Scouts came unprepared and as a result only earned a “partial”.

BE PREPARED – Come Prepared to complete the Merit Badge.

PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED.
All Scouts interested in earning the Engineering Merit Badge MUST REGISTER on the “Be An Engineer” web page.  Provide your NAME, TROOP NUMBER, TOWN OR CITY, COUNCIL AND DISTRICT, as well as your email address and parents name and email address (if different).  Scouts will receive a registration number and information packet via email from the merit badge Coordinator.

GET THE UPDATED MERIT BADGE PAMPHLET FROM YOUR SCOUT SHOP.
Most, if not all of the answers to the requirements that you need to prepare in advance are answered in the pamphlet.

BRING A BLUE CARD SIGNED BY YOUR UNIT LEADER.
Counselors cannot provide you with a blue card.  You MUST bring one signed by your Unit Leader.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Registering for the EXPO is NOT the same as registering for the Merit Badge.   Register for the Merit Badge as stated above.

  • No Scout will be permitted to sit with a Merit Badge Counselor without a registration number issued by the Merit Badge Coordinator, no exceptions.

  •   We are limited on the number of Scouts who we can accommodate for the Merit Badge at this event.  We will cut off the registration once we have met our maximum based on the number of counselors available on that date.   A Scout should expect to spend 30 to 45 minutes with a Counselor.   It is strongly recommended that Scouts register early. Please, No Walkins!
